Description

At 1:30pm every day, the people working as the British Redcoat Soldiers do a very formal and official ceremony that involves them marching down into a fenced-off military square and performing a typical British military gun-firing ceremony, before doing photos for a while then marching back.

I had a school trip to Sovereign Hill, a replica 1850s Australian gold rush era town at Ballarat (which itself was the major location in the Victorian gold rush) last week to research a history project. It's a great little town, and they go to a lot of effort to make it accurate and interesting.
